Bulgaria TV Channel Nova Televizia Sale Becomes Final

"Modern Times Group" (MTG), the second largest media group in Europe, announced Thursday that they have received all necessary approvals from Bulgarian authorities to close the deal for the purchase of 100% of the TV channel "Nova Televizia."
MTG takes over the channel effective Thursday with full control of the entire business of "Nova Televizia."
One July 31, 2008, MTG announced that they have signed a contract to acquire 100% of the shares of the TV channel for a price EUR 620 M in cash from "Antenna Bulgaria."
"Nova Televizia" has been established in 1994 and owns 100% of the TV channel "Nova Televizia," 100% of the cable TV channel "Nova+" and 80% of the woman's magazine "Eva."
According to data, "Nova Televizia" is the second most watched TV channel in Bulgaria. MTG already manages the cable "Diema" channels in the country trough their control package of 50 % in Balkan Media Group Limited.

Bulgarian Firm to Build Biomass Thermal Power Plant for BGN 100 M

The Bulgarian company Enemona is negotiating with the local authorities of the Pleven District the investment of BGN 100 M into a biomass thermal power plant, the Pari Daily reported Thursday.
The new thermal power plant will have a capacity of 15 MW, and will be located in the Danube town of Nikopol. It will be running on biomass made of hay.
According to the Deputy Governor of the District of Pleven Tzvetko Tzvetkov, Enemona and the District Administration were about to sign the deals for the purchase of plots in the Danube towns of Nikopol and Belene, where the facilities of the new TPP will be located.
Tzvetkov also announced the District of Pleven produced about 350 000 tons of hay every year, which could all be used for the making of biomass to be burned in the new plant.
He predicted that the first thermal power plant in Bulgaria to run on biomass of hay would start functioning within two years.
Enemona is a Bulgarian engineering company founded in 1990. It works in the field of energy efficiency and renewable energy sources.
